Indians 'Have Some Interest' In Ozuna

The Cleveland Indians “have some interest” in Marcell Ozuna.

The Tribe need some help at centerfielder, and Ozuna could be the help they’re looking for, according to CBS Sports.

Marlins general manager Michael Hill has said the club intends to keep Ozuna, but the outfielder might not want to be in Miami for the 2016, which could lead to a potential trade between the two clubs. The 24-year-old is arbitration-eligible for the first time this off-season.

It was a disappointing season after a 23 HR, 85 RBI year in 2014. Ozuna followed that with a .259/.308/.383 batting line along with 10 HR and 44 RBI in 123 games this season. It was only his third season and second full season, so there’s no telling whether he could bounce back and even improve on what he did in 2014.

The Marlins were expected to be in postseason contention this season but finished 20 games below .500. There is plenty of young talent there, which could make for a better team next season, especially if Giancarlo Stanton is healthy.
