BALLER MOVE: Add in Two-Catcher Leagues
OWNED IN: 16% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Even though Isiah Kiner-Falefa has slowed down a bit over the last week, he has still produced well over his last 55 AB with two HR and a .345/.379/.527 slash line. His power has been a bit depleted this month, as his 29% hard contact rate, 25.8% soft contact rate, and .057 ISO. Most of his power was displayed in July when he hit two homers and slugged .490. This month, he has improved upon other aspects of his game. His strikeout rate came down by 9.5% to 10.5%, while his walk rate went up by 5.9% to 7.9%.
His BABIP is high at .355, but his 40.7% hard contact rate and 8.5% soft contact rate, when combined with his above average speed for a catcher-eligible player seem to support that Kiner-Falefa can consistently maintain his good BA and OBP. Though his hard contact on batted balls has been inconsistent throughout the season, the 23-year old Honolulu native brings a decently well-rounded bat to the mix and is a great base stealing threat in the catcher slot. Even if he only averages two dingers a month moving forward, the triple-eligible player is still worth of heavy consideration from Fantasy Baseball Managers in two-catcher leagues.
