ANALYSIS: Isiah Kiner-Falefa has catcher eligibility despite having not caught a game for the Texas Rangers in 2020. All ten of his appearances this year have come at third base but being able to start him in the catcher position of your fantasy lineups as an everyday player immediately gives you an edge on most other teams with the larger accumulation from more plate appearances in the position. That only works if Kiner-Falefa produces at the plate and so far this year, he has.
Kiner-Falefa has just one RBI to his name and hasn't homered in 2020, but he has scored six runs and has four stolen bases to his name while all other catchers in the Majors have combined for four stolen bases. The Rangers have only scored 40 runs in their first twelve games so counting stats might not be great going forward and Kiner-Falefa's batting average of .353 has been elevated by a .462 BABIP. But as long as he's stealing bases and playing every day he will be someone you can plug into the catcher spot in 12-team leagues and can almost just forget about while he bumps up your steals and runs week-by-week.
