BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 43% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Time is running out for fantasy managers to add the Rays' J.P. Feyereisen as his rostered rate has rocketed upward in the last couple of days. That'll happen when a pitcher is handed each of his team's last three save opportunities. He remains available on the waiver wire in the majority of leagues, but that likely won't hold for much longer.
Acquired from the Brewers in the Willy Adames trade, Feyereisen is a former 16th-round pick (Cleveland, 2014) who never got much attention as a prospect despite consistently solid results as he moved through the minors. Now 28 years old, he has a 2.73 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 26 innings of work between Milwaukee and Tampa. He compensates for a higher than ideal walk rate by inducing lots of whiffs (16.7% swinging strike rate) and limiting quality contact. Expect the .183 BABIP to rise and his ratios with it, but managers scrapping for saves should add Feyereisen across all formats.
