BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 24% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Jack Flaherty's ownership percentage in fantasy leagues is bound to take a drastic leap forward after Sunday's 13 strikeout performance against the Phillies. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny showed tons of faith in the rookie, allowing him to throw 120 pitches and work 7 2/3 innings. It was his best and longest start so far on the young season, and a continuation of his recent success.
In 2017, his ERA in the minors was 2.18 with a 1.04 WHIP; in 2018, he also put up a 2.27 ERA / 0.92 WHIP with 41 strikeouts over 31 2/3. And over his first four major league starts, he's racked up a very impressive 2.31 ERA / 1.03 WHIP and 27:7 K:BB ratio. Needless to say, Flaherty is ready for an extended look in the Cardinals rotation this season. He throws four pitches, commands them well, and is pitching for a team that gives him plenty of upside. He is a must-add in basically every format.
