BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 18% of leagues
ANALYSIS: JaCoby Jones has a .423/.464/.885 slash line through eight games of the season despite hitting ninth in the Detroit Tigers lineup in all eight games. The Tigers have gotten off to a good start with a 5-3 record and Jones has been a big part of that, leading the team in runs (six), tied for the lead in homers (three) and RBIs (seven) and having the team's best slash line. His 23 total bases also leads the whole of the MLB. It should only be a matter of time before the Tigers move Jones up the order and with Cameron Maybin hitting the IL, he doesn't have any real competition for the center field job either.
It's unreasonable to think Jones will continue hitting above .400 the rest of the season but he's a hitter who has gone on hot streaks before during the last two seasons so it makes sense to at least ride this one for as long as possible. Over the next three weeks, the Tigers are scheduled to face the Chicago White Sox seven times (who currently have the fourth highest team ERA) so Jones should still be able to put up solid numbers throughout August and it's unlikely you'll have five better outfielder options in any 14-team league to keep you from rostering him.
