Jaime Garcia will throw live batting practice on Saturday, according to the St. Louis Dispatch.
Garcia, 29 hasn’t pitched since he suffered a groin injury on June 24. The left-hander still has no timetable for his return to the St. Louis Cardinals lineup, but it could be as soon as next week. Despite missing Garcia for nearly a month, the Cardinals have a 56-33 record - the best in MLB.

Garcia has spent all nine of his MLB seasons in St. Louis. This year was by far his best season before the injury. He has a 3-3 record with a 1.69 ERA. Over his last three starts prior to injury, Garcia allowed one run in over 21 innings on 13 hits total.
In all seven of his starts this season, Garcia has earned a quality start. Only once did Garcia allow more than two runs in an outing.
