ANALYSIS: Tyler Clippard was traded to the Yankees this morning, and is expected to act as the setup man Dellin Betances. The closer carousel continues. Yesterday Barrett picked up his second save of the season, and his manager has expressed confidence in his ability to hold down the fort. Regardless of the Clippard trade, Barrett was already expected to act as the closer moving forward - but that trade only makes his situation more secure. Needless to say, more saves should be coming his way down the fantasy baseball home stretch.
Barrett has very solid numbers on the year, posting a 2.79 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with a 39:13 K:BB ratio over 38 2/3 innings pitched. He is still available on most waiver wires, so go ahead and add him if your league counts saves - or put in a modest bid with your FAAB budget.
