BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Jake Cronenworth has been one of the more interesting stories in the 2020 baseball season. The 26-year-old rookie was a two-way player in College before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2015. He didn't throw a pitch in professional baseball until last year and he only managed 7.1 IP at Triple-A as he focused on his bat throughout the Minor Leagues. Cronenworth was the extra piece moved to San Diego in the Tommy Pham trade and is showing he was a great addition in the trade for the Padres.
Cronenworth has played in all four infield spots so far this year and is hitting .328 with 2 HR, 1 SB, 10 runs and 7 RBI in 75 plate appearances. Last season at the Triple-A level, Cronenworth had a season-high ten homers with 12 stolen bases and a .334/.429/.520 slash line in 94 games. Cronenworth has had success getting on base and avoiding strikeouts during his Minor League career and that's translated so far this year with a 10.7% BB% and 13.3% K% which is something that'll hold him in good stead at the Major League level. Cronenworth will find himself playing regularly due to his versatility and looks to have a firm grip on the regular second base job too. With the Padres offense looking so dangerous, Cronenworth will have chances to score and drive-in runs as well as providing a good batting average so is well worth rostering in 12+ team leagues.
