Jake Lamb (3B, ARI) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 29 percent of Fleaflicker leagues

ANALYSIS: Jake Lamb hit .254/.314/.382 with 10 homers in 523 plate appearances during his first two seasons in the majors. As a result, he wasn't on anyone's fantasy radar outside of NL-only leagues and deep mixers. He's done his best to change that through the season's first few weeks. Lamb has cut his strikeout rate and raised his walk rate by four percentage points each, and though he only has two homers so far, his ISO has doubled from a year ago. With several established veterans at the hot corner struggling right now, Lamb is an intriguing option in most formats. He remains vulnerable to left-handed pitching, and manager Chip Hale hasn't been shy about leaving him on the bench when a southpaw toes the rubber for the Diamondbacks' opponents. Lamb's plate discipline and batted ball distribution have steadily trended up since he broke into the big leagues, though, which bodes well for his long-term outlook as he attempts to close the gap in his platoon splits.
