BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ANALYSIS: Jake McGee is the de facto closer for the Rays. He was favored to get the gig after Balfour's demotion, and while some may have forgotten because it took a week for the Rays to offer McGee a save opportunity, he is now a waiver wire option that should be added immediately. He has been dominant this year, racking up a 1.44 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 36 K in 31.1 IP heading into Tuesday night. On Sunday, he recorded his first save of the season in the Rays' win over the Astros, taking care of Jesús Guzmán and José Altuve before striking out Jon Singleton. Then on Monday, Maddon brought Mcgee into the game in the eighth with the game tied after Balfour let up yet another run. McGee finished out the inning with runners on second and third with one out, and ended up notching his third win of the season with the help of the offense. McGee is only owned in 23% of Yahoo leagues, so he may still be available in your league. It remains to be seen whether it's McGee or Juan Carlos Oviedo in Joe Maddon's master plan for the rest of this season, but McGee remains a solid option for fantasy managers in the short term.
