ANALYSIS: Tale of two seasons, that of Jamal Agnew. The Jaguars were always going to be on the low end of things this season given their recent past and the fact that QB Trevor Lawrence is, even carrying massive hype to the NFL, just a rookie going through the usual growing pains. And that's precisely what is happening, only recently the Jags have seen a bunch of offensive options go down injured and that has opened the door to unexpected players such as Agnew.
Through the first four games of the season, Agnew topped at 6.0 PPR points... only because of his work on special teams. Agnew, in fact, got his first rushing (yes) attempt and target (for a 27-yard reception) as late as in Week 4 (and he fumbled the rock...). He never played more than 10 offensive snaps (14% snap share tops) until Week 5, but starting that gameday everything changed for Agnew. He has played in all five games (W5 included) since then and he has never stayed in offensive formations for fewer than 33 snaps or a below-55% snap share.
Agnew has turned into a regular wide receiver. He has scored 10.9 PPR points in four of his last five games, and he's gotten 5+ targets in all of five of those matches. Even though he put up a stinker this past Sunday (5-0-0-0 receiving line), he still was good for 13.9 PPR points given his rushing upside and funky deployment by the Jags, handing him 3 rushing attempts he turned into 79 yards and a rushing TD. One way or another Agnew is surely delivering, has entered the WR2 real twice, and he also has a top-30 WR finish to his name. Clear flier given his shaky/weird usage and performing levels, but definitely one to roster in the deepest fantasy formats out there.
