BALLER MOVE: Continue Monitoring in Shallow Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: With DeSean Jackson out of the lineup, Jamison Crowder has played the high-percentage slot receiver role for Washington since week 3. During that time Kirk Cousins has utilized him as his security blanket targeting him 26 times (~9 targets per game).
The bad news is that DeSean Jackson and Jordan Reed are close to returning and Crowder's value will diminish when that happens. The good news for Crowder is it seems that Jackson & Reed may not play this week. The worse news is that Crowder faces a tough New York Jets secondary which has Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie limiting opposing receivers. Therefore, Crowder's waiver value is not high given the tough matchup and cloudy opportunities ahead.
Crowder has played well during the past few weeks (197 yards, 21 catches) and certainly has earned a role in the offense. However, his value for fantasy owners is low and will not increase unless there are any injuries in the Washington receiving corps. At this time continue monitoring Crowder unless you are in a deeper PPR league.
