ANALYSIS: Jaret Patterson's rookie season started taking an exciting upturn out of necessity from the Washington Football Team, and with Antonio Gibson's most recent absence, the Buffalo alumnus was presented with his biggest opportunity of the year. Between weeks eight and sixteen, Patterson collected 160 rushing yards and one touchdown on 41 carries, with his offensive snap totals ranging from three to sixteen, albeit minimal involvement in the passing game.

This past week against the division-rival Eagles, Patterson took 12 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown on 39 offensive snaps (62%), and this time out he contributed to the WFT pass attack to the tune of five catches on five targets for 41 yards. He is now the team's third-leading rusher behind Gibson and Taylor Heinicke (so second among RBs), and Washington has nothing to play for going into their week eighteen matchup with the similarly ill-suited New York Giants, so it is quite likely that his breakout performance could earn him a greater share of the workload in the low-stakes final game, even with Gibson's status currently up in the air. With the display of his ever expanding skillset and the alignment of timing and circumstance, Jaret Patterson is a shot worth taking to cap off the season.
