BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Jarrod Dyson has never been a great hitter, as evidence by both his career .669 OPS and the fact that he's logged only 2,276 plate appearances in 10 seasons (never more than 390 in a single year). What he brings to the table is speed and defense, having produced at a 61 SB per 600 PA pace in his career.
Finally handed a regular role in his age-34 season with the Diamondbacks (albeit still sitting against lefties), Dyson has continued to rack up stolen bases with 11 thefts in 12 attempts thus far. For what it's worth, he's also hitting better than usual, with a .290/.391/.419 line through 33 games. You can probably expect some pullback there, but Dyson's appeal to fantasy owners is and always has been his contribution in the steals category, which has only become more valuable in recent years.
Despite his excellent start to the season, Dyson remains unowned in four out of every five Yahoo leagues at the moment. Owners feeling the need for speed won't do much better on the wire than him.
