BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 35% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: Jason Kipnis has gone from a deep-league useful player to a staple in standard-sized and 12+ teams leagues. He's still being overlooked for someone with the production he's showing, so you may very well consider adding him to your lineup if you have a hole at MI.
Although Kipnis can't be considered the same as yesteryear (pre-2017), his numbers this season are not bad at all. He's already hit for 11 HR, 54 RBI, and stolen six bases. Perhaps the most encouraging aspects of Kipnis' performance are his "expected" stats. Per Baseball Savant, he ranks higher than the 50th percentile in all xwOBA, xBA, and xSLG.
If you have room for Kipnis entering this week, he should be one of the players you should definitely target. He's been on fire since the start of the month. In seven games, he's hit two home runs, has nine RBI to his name, has stolen a base and has slashed a .407/.429/.852 line. He's a fixture in Cleveland's lineup and will keep getting playing time. If he can maintain his production, the return on investment he can provide could easily be one of the greatest producers of unrostered players on your league's waiver wire.
