BALLER MOVE: Add in Very Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Jeremy Guthrie is on a little run right now, having only given up more than two runs once in his past 7 starts. He also had back-to-back 9 strikeout games which is fairly impressive in itself. I'd be a tad more impressed with Guthrie if he wasn't giving up a decent amount of hits and walks per start. That usually spells trouble for a starting pitcher. Even more troubling is the fact that his batting average against, WHIP, and BABIP are all below career norms and his K/9 rate doesn't support coming even close to striking out 9 batters a game. Regression is most likely coming unfortunately. However, Guthrie is still worth an add while he is on this run for those of you in deep leagues. It's not easy to find pitchers like Guthrie in 12 teamers+ or AL-only who have been on a tear of 2 runs or less in 6 of their past 7 starts. For those in such leagues, add him as a flier. For those of you in shallower leagues, you have better options.
