Jeremy McNichols (RB, TEN) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 1% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: As a 2017 fifth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of Boise State, it was a very slow start to the professional career of running back Jeremy McNichols, taking just two carries for four yards with no targets in the passing game across four games in three seasons for San Francisco, Jacksonville, and Indianapolis. Now he finds himself a member of the Tennessee Titans as the change-of-pace back behind freak-of-nature Derrick Henry, and in the background of some powerhouse Henry performances, McNichols has started to find a groove in a meaningful on-field role.

Leading up to Week Five against Buffalo, McNichols had taken a mere two carries for seven yards and had seen two targets, good for a single five-yard catch, while participating in an insignificant 33 offensive snaps over the first three games. Against the Bills, that activity began to ramp up, as McNichols took nine carries for 28 yards rushing and caught a pass out of his lone target for three yards while taking part in 26 snaps on offense. Then, in Week Six against Houston, the former Boise State Bronco stepped up in efficiency, taking five hand-offs for 51 yards on the ground, and saw more activity in the passing game (two catches out of three targets for 11 yards) as he again reached a season-high figure in offensive snaps with 29 (39% for Tennessee).

Derrick Henry puts a tight ceiling on potential production with his usual high-volume workload, but with Jeremy McNichols finding success as a distinct asset in the Titans offense and hitting the accelerator, there are still worthwhile rewards to be had by incorporating him into your lineup.
