ANALYSIS: Last season, in the season's second half with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Jimmy Rollins had a slash of .241/.313/.389 with five HR and five SB in just 204 AB. That was a vast improvement from his first half slash of .213/.266/.338, even though he was still able to hit eight HR and grab seven SB in 314 AB. This has actually been the trend throughout all of Rollins' 15 year career. For his the first half of seasons throughout his career, Rollins averages a slash of .259/.316/.400 and has accumulated 112 HR and 232 SB in 5076 AB; while he seems to steadily heat up as the season progresses. Rollins averages a slash of .272/.334/.444 while accumulating 118 HR and 233 SB in 4090 AB throughout his career in the second half of the season. Rollins may not be an MVP caliber player anymore, but one thing he seems to do year in and year out is hit HR and grab SB. This type of speed/power combo can be incredibly valuable when it is taken into account that Rollins is a power hitting SS who is available in 93% of leagues.
