BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues
ANALYSIS: Joe Kelly is emerging as one of those post-hype sleepers, and a legitimate fantasy baseball starting pitcher who seems to be getting better with each start (and more consistent as well). He is still only owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues, which is just too low. Here are a few things to consider: he has the talent, he has a great arm (one of the best fastball velocities in the majors), is pitching well to start 2014, pitched well in 2013, and is on a great St. Louis team that gets tons of wins and produces starting pitcher studs often. After his last gem on Friday against the Cubs, where he gave up zero ER over 6 IP, Kelley is now sporting a solid 0.79 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over 11 1/3 IP. Don't forget that last year he had a 2.69 ERA over 124 IP, to go along with 10 wins. He may not get you elite Ks, but the talent and upside is definitely there. If you are looking for some starting pitcher help, or have an extra roster spot, grab Kelly off the waiver wire and ride him until he proves differently.
