ANALYSIS: Joe Mauer has started all but two games for the Twins in 2016. After a couple of lean years, Mauer is on pace for his highest home run total since 2009— he has seven bombs already. Five of those homers have come in the last month, as he’s hit .302 with 36 R+RBI over that span. True, the veteran isn’t the most exciting option these days, but he’s outproduced sexier names like Mark Trumbo, Jose Abreu and Matt Carpenter in recent weeks.
