BALLER MOVE: Target in Rounds 6-8
ANALYSIS: Joey Votto is arguably the most polarizing player in baseball. Sabermetricians praise his game of prioritizing reaching base. Old-school baseball fans believe that he should be willing to strike out at a higher rate to drive in more runs and hit more home runs. In spite of his polarizing nature, Votto is still one of the best players in the game.
Votto has shown that he will not hit 40 home runs and likely won’t even reach the 30 home run plateau, but he can be counted to hit an average around .300 when healthy. Batting in a better lineup than he has hit in for a while, Votto could also have 100 runs and 100 RBI in 2015.
Reds manager Bryan Price has him batting third behind Billy Hamilton and Todd Frazier while ahead of Devin Mesoraco, Marlon Byrd, and Jay Bruce. If he is healthy enough to play 130 games, he can provide first round value for a fourth round or later pick.
