BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 62% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: John Axford has been an incredible story for the baseball world in 2015. After three consecutive years of struggles, Axford finally found a home in Colorado and has run away with the closers’ role. Axford has 11 saves already on the year, matching his total from last season already. His FIP of 2.83 suggests that the 0.50 ERA is likely to go up at some point, but it still shows a lot of promise for his future. He is not the elite strikeout closer that he once was, but he has managed to keep the ball down on the ground to the tune of a 59.6% GB rate (the highest of his career). He has also posted the second lowest walk rate of his career so far (3.50 BB/9) which bodes well for future success. He isn’t in any trouble of losing his closer’s role, so expect him to continue to rack up the saves this season. John Axford has plenty of fantasy value remaining this season and should be added in all leagues.
