BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 34% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Guys, you REALLY need to add Jon Gray. He should be owned in all formats if you ask me, and he probably would be if it weren't for the Coors Field factor. If you look at his body of work though, it's pretty impressive. Gray held the Red Sox to two runs in 7.1 innings a couple of weeks ago. He's also victimized the Padres for two straight starts, striking out 12 on June 5th. Obviously he's a better start on the road, but he's been awesome at home, too.
His 3.18 SIERA and 2.99 xFIP both suggest that Gray is absolutely for real. The 68 K in 59.1 IP speaks for itself, but the 48% groundball rate is the real sign of positive things to come. Gray is not letting batters put the ball in the air, so he's generating a lot of weak to medium contact. The medium contact a lot of the time is only because Gray's big fastball does a lot of the work. Just do yourself a favor, add this guy to your pitching staff.
