Baller Move: Handcuff to Alfred Blue, stash in deep leagues
Owned In: 15% of Fleaflicker Leagues
Analysis: The Houston Texans have not suddenly forgotten about Arian Foster, but the dynamic efforts of Alfred Blue and Jonathan Grimes in the backfield have certainly sufficed. Against the New York Jets last week, both caught all three of their targets for a combined 51 yards, while Blue rushed for 58 yards and Grimes rushed for 37. Together they make a serviceable back--apart, not so much.
After an inauspicious start to the season, the Houston Texans suddenly find themselves in first place, and face the New Orleans Saints Sunday in a favorable matchup for their run game. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Saints allow the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that Grimes or Blue can be trusted on a week-to-week basis due to the timeshare.
Blue is coming off his first productive fantasy week since Week 3, and out-carried Grimes, 21-6. Grimes can provide some value in PPR leagues, 17 catches for 113 yards for the year, but as long as he is in the backup role he remains unusable in standard formats. Grimes has not rushed the ball more than six times in a game all season, and has failed to score a single touchdown.
Until it's clear how often the Texans will get Grimes involved, stash him away, and wait.
