BALLER MOVE: Pick Up In All Leagues
OWNED IN: 22% of Flea Flicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Boy howdy, did Jonathan Schoop turn his fortunes around in 2015. He followed up a rookie season that saw him hit .209 with 16 home runs in 455 at-bats with a much more palatable .279 average and 15 home runs in only 305 at-bats. With 500 or more at-bats, Schoop should have little issue hitting the 20 home run plateau, greatly rewarding fantasy owners who take a chance on him.
Despite the power, Schoop's RBI totals continue to disappoint thanks to his position at the bottom of the Orioles' lineup. Hitting exclusively eighth in the lineup last year, he managed to drive home only 34. That doesn't appear likely to change (it hasn't three games in), so don't be surprised when his RBI total still seems underwhelming at the end of the season.
Schoop will spend this weekend with the Rays, a team he has a career .235 average against. Don't fret though. He hit their pitching last year to the tune of .286, including .333 for his career against Sunday's starter Jake Odorizzi. That's followed by an early week series with the Red Sox, which is likely to make his fantasy owners sad as he has a .211 career average against Boston. Monday's game with David Price is less problematic than one may assume, as he has a career average of .286 against Boston's ace.
