Over the past six seasons, Bautista’s proclivity for monstrous long-balls and his knack for driving in a bulk of runs put him on the map. Now, after ‘the bat-flip heard around the world’ during last season’s ALDS, Bautista is one of the most must-watch players in the game, on the field, and in the fantasy baseball world.
After posting 40 home runs and 114 ribbies last season, Joey Bats finds himself ranked amongst the top five of fantasy outfielders, and should be one of the first outfielders drafted on any lineup, behind the you-know-who’s playing in Los Angeles and Washington DC. The only downside to Bautista is that he struggles against lefties. He hit only five of his 40 home runs off southpaws last season while his average was about .20 points lower as well. Lucky for him, he’ll be facing a lot more righties, and will still breach the 500 at-bat mark. Bautista scores a lot of runs and will get plenty of help from his friends in Toronto. He’ll likely be passed up on in the first round of drafts, but should be taken no later than the second.
