ANALYSIS: Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Junior Guerra snapped a three-start losing streak against the Diamondbacks on May 14 and has a strong 3.08 ERA this season. Guerra is 3-3 this season and has also struck out 37 batters in 38 innings, allowing just three home runs.
While the base statistics are strong for Guerra, there are underlying factors that are not that sunny for those looking at Guerra. He has walked 18 batters this season and his 78.1% strand rate and .255 BABIP have contributed to an xFIP of 4.47. Also, while his strikeout totals are nice, Guerra has only topped five strikeouts in one of his last three starts and has never topped six innings pitched in a game this season.
After making a start on Sunday in Minnesota against the Twins, Guerra will also start on Friday in Milwaukee against the Mets. Considering the Mets' struggles at the plate, Guerra is a good one-start streamer this week and his RP eligibility is nice as well.
