BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 3% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Most owners have that experience of drafting a minor leaguer, stashing that player, and then ultimately be disappointed with the production when they do emerge. Jurickson Profar is that player for many teams. So before jumping into the analysis, make sure not to remember those bad moments with Profar. He is an entirely different player, for better or worse. Rougned Odor and Adrian Beltre’s injury made Profar’s stay in the majors a lock even with a slow start out of the gates. Even more, against Cleveland, he was batting third, showing the lack of real hitters on that team. The game plan seems to be: get on base and hope Gallo hits a bomb. That helps Profar.
So far, a .233 with 12 RBI has kept him in the line-up, and the overall profile is much more appealing than in past years. A career high BB% props up a .337 OBP. Even more, a .286 BABIP means the AVG might come up a bit which would push that OPB to .350 or higher. Profar is not an immediate add and start, but that the mixed positional flexibility makes him an appealing bench bat with upside. If these numbers keep up, and Gallo keep driving him in 60 runs this year might be within reach.
