ANALYSIS: Since the season has begun the Baltimore Ravens knew they would not have Ray Rice due to suspension for a few games. Little did they know that they wouldn't have him all season long...and end up cutting him. Most fantasy football experts expected the preseason backup, Bernard Pierce, to step in for starting duties. Unfortunately Pierce got injured and the Ravens relied on journeyman Justin Forsett and rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro, hoping someone would step up.
Forsett and Taliaferro both stepped up, but Forsett has shown up in a big way. Over the last 4 weeks Forsett has averaged 64 yards rushing, 16 yards catching (4 catches), and .5 TDs. These stats make Forsett a legit RB2 in standard leagues with weekly RB1 upside in PPR leagues. While there is some doubt as to whether Forsett can keep this up given his track record and size, we have little reason to doubt him when each week he is proving the previous week was no fluke. This weeks performance (week 5) 97 total yards and a TD was especially encouraging. If you are looking for a RB to target on the waiver wire Forsett is a great pickup.
