BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Justin Smoak has been pretty terrible this year, but we saw him put up a very nice stretch in 2012, and it seems he's finding his groove at the plate just in time for the 2nd half. Over the last 8 games of the 1st half, Smoak had 2 HR and 9 RBI while collecting 11 hits (4 doubles and 2 HR). You probably couldn't tell because of how bad he's been, but Smoak's peripherals are improved from last year. His BB% has increased from 9.2 % to 13%, his line drive % has increased from 18.2% to 24.7%. He's waiting for his pitches and squaring them up which has resulted in a .272 BA (compared to .217 in 2012). I don't think Smoak will explode for a long period of time, but he's worth owning as long as he's hitting if you're hurting for power.
