BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 31% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS:
Justin Smoak started the year as a man on fire, but fell victim to a .291 wOBA in June. He’s been back up to a .331 since the ASB, including four home runs in his last ten games. He’s much better against righties (.361 wOBA), but will be in the lineup every night as a switch-hitter. He’s up to 17 home runs on the season with a .43% hard contact rate and .224 BABIP. It’s the lowest of his career and a clear sign of bad luck.
If Smoak continues playing like he has since the break, you’ll regret not adding him when while you could have . He’s just 31% owned as of now and that number will continue to rise. The Jays lineup has been a lot better of late and Smoak is the number one RBI producer. He may have run into a few tough patches this season, but it looks like they are through those and Smoak is ready to exceed his 25 home runs in ‘18. He’s an excellent add in 12+ team leagues, as a guy with a ton of upside and very little risk.
