ANALYSIS: I was expecting fantasy GMs to sleep a little bit more on Jusuf Nurkic's upside given his eight-game regular season in 2020. I guess the fact that those came in the bubble and the postseason refreshed some GMs' memories. Nurkic, obviously, could do nothing for fantasy players but his super-small late-season sample was more than encouraging.
In his eight games, Nurk played 253 minutes. Nurkic turned those opportunities into an average of 42.7 FPPG, the second-highest mark among Blazers. Much more interesting was his 1.35 FP/min tally, which ranked 18th league-wide (min. 250 minutes played). Only Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummon topped that mark among C-only eligible players in Yahoo leagues, and only five more PF/C-eligible men finished above him.
The Blazers have added Enes Kanter to their frontcourt, and they will also welcome Zach Collins back on a full-time basis and freed from injuries. Even then, there is no way Nurkic loses touches to them as he's clearly the best big in the team. Nurk averaged a dub-dub in his short 2020 spell (17.6 ppg, 10.3 rpg) and added 4.0 apg, 1.4 spg, and 2.0 bpg to that. Do you know how many players posted a 15-10-4-1-1 line in 2020? Three: Giannis, Bam, and Jusuf.
