BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues
ANALYSIS: Kelly Johnson has become the swiss army knife for the New York Yankees, and is one of those multi-position sleepers since he's eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B and OF in most fantasy baseball leagues. That alone provides value, and in real life the Yankees are fortunate to have him with recent injuries to Mark Teixeira, Brian Roberts and Francisco Cervelli. Johnson is off to a solid start in 2014, with 3 HR and 7 RBI over the first 2 weeks of the season. Hitting in the hitter-friendly Yankee stadium should only help with his HR totals, as he bats lefty and there is the short porch effect in the Bronx. Solid power from a thin 2B position can be a valuable asset for fantasy, and owners that are looking for a 3B fill-in due to injury could do much worse off the waiver wire. Let's not forget that Johnson has belted at least 16 HR in the last 4 seasons where he's had at least 350 ABs. Feel free to grab him off the waiver wire, as he should be getting regular ABs for the foreseeable future.
