BALLER MOVE: Target ~105
CURRENT ADP: ~115
ANALYSIS: Kelvin Benjamin is clearly the Buffalo Bills No. 1 wide receiver. At first look that may not mean much as the Bills offense is expected to struggle with youngsters Nathan Peterman or Josh Allen at quarterback, and a shaky offensive line. Peterman will start behind center in Week 1.
Benjamin was not heavily involved the Bills offense after coming over from Carolina during last season. Still he pulled in 16 of his 27 targets for 217 yards and one score over six games. The 27-year old had a decent 2018 preseason with seven receptions, on 11 targets, for 105 yards and one touchdown. Two of his catches were for over 20-yards.
Benjamin is a big target, who has no problem going over the middle, and possesses good hands. The talented 6-foot-5 receiver has the pedigree of a top flight receiver, hauling in at least 60 passes for more than 900 yards and seven touchdowns in each of his first NFL two campaigns. While Benjamin does not have blazing speed, he does have the capability of making big plays with 34 of his 184 career receptions going for 20 or more yards.
Running back LeSean McCoy is 30 years old and he may not see the field as much this season. And tight end Charles Clay has shown to be injury prone and may have to help with pass blocking a little more often. Expect Benjamin to have a productive season and out-perform his of a fantasy projection of a 12th round selection and WR47 ranking.
