ANALYSIS: The 2020s Patriots are definitely not the 2000s and 2010s team. That's for sure, and that's something we have to live with as the GOAT moved on from his New England tenure. Things are changed, a rookie quarterback is throwing the rock for the Pats these days, but there are still some salvageable things to extract from this offense. One of them, in the receiving department, is oft-overlooked WR Kendrick Bourne.
I know, we're talking slim picks here by combining both a Patriots wide receiver and a WW target barely rostered. But it's not that bad, believe me. Bourne, in fact, is averaging 11.5 PPR points over the year; that's definitely not a league-winning average, sure, but it's good to make it past the WR2-realm cutoff this season as the top-24 WR has averaged precisely 11.5 PPR points per week this year. Bourne, truth be told, has been a tad better than that given he had his two worst games of the season in back-to-back matches all the way back in W1 and W2.
In the last eight games Bourne has played (Bye still on the horizon), the WR has averaged a much better 13.5 PPR per game while finishing games with an average 5-4-61 receiving line and scoring 3 total TDs on the year. Bourne has gotten into the WR1 group of players in three weeks, and is coming off his best game of the season after reaching 24.1 PPR points last Sunday facing the Browns: Bourne put up a 4-4-98-1 line which couldn't get any better given his 45% snap share and 30 off. snaps total. The production/availability makes no sense, so take advantage of the glitch in the matrix and make Bourne part of your roster before your rival GMs catch up, almost no matter the format/depth you play in.
