Analysis: While Khris Davis's initial 2016 slash line of .200/.257/.308 may make it seem like he forgot to eat his spinach this season, the fate of a player who crushed 27 HR in just 392 Brewer at-bats in 2015 may not be so grim. While Davis got off to a super slow start in Oakland, he had a gargantuan week. In 23 AB in the last six games played he had a .304 BA, a .925 OPS, and hit two home runs while producing a BABIP actually lower than the typical league average at .294. Davis is able to hit well off of both righties and lefties as he sports a .797 and .788 OPS for his career against the two sides respectively.
Davis got off to a bad start, no doubt about it. Maybe he had to shake the cobwebs, or maybe he has to adjust to life outside homer-friendly Miller Park. Either way, Davis looks to be back on track with his power hitting ways.
