Kirk Cousins (QB, MIN) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: When I first checked the fantasy-point tracker on Sunday, I saw something I couldn't believe. Through two quarters, Kirk Cousins was sitting at almost two negative fantasy points. He had committed three interceptions and thrown no touchdowns at all. He was, simply put, mediocre. Until he went to the locker, put on Jameis Winston super-QB cape, and came back roaring.

I mention Jameis here because it is the closest comp to whatever it was Cousins did on Sunday. At the end of the day, Cousins had completed 24 of 36 passes for 343 yards (!) and among those, he was able to toss three touchdowns to the first-half three interceptions. Cousins closed Sunday's slate as the QB6, which isn't bad a tall for one-QB leagues, let alone 2QB formats.

What started as Cousins worst game of the season finished as his best. His 26.7 FP topped his Week 1 performance (22.8). Cousins also passed for more yards than in any other game (343 to second-highest 260), and although he got picked three times he made up for it with three touchdowns.

Minnesota is going on a bye week next, sure, but if you can still snatch Cousins from waivers you better start doing so right now. He's already rostered in almost 4 out of 10 leagues out there and that percentage is going to rise going forward. Take advantage of potential drops (bye week) and add him to your roster to deploy him as your starter starting in Week 8 and ROS.
