BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: After his killer 2012 campaign with the Cardinals that saw him put up career numbers, Lohse followed it up in 2013 with solid numbers: 11 Wins with 5.7 K/9, 3.35 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. Now at 35, Lohse has not shown any signs of slowing down (with the exception of his most recent walk-plagued start @PHI), and while he's far from an elite fantasy option, he deserves to be owned in more than 44% of Yahoo leagues. With a decent back end bullpen and a solid lineup up top (Gomez, Segura, Braun, Ramirez, Lucroy, and Davis) Lohse could definitely end up being a nice waiver wire pitcher who racks up IP with a low WHIP, solid ERA, and 12-14 wins. If he’s available in your league, I’d keep track of his next start or two and make a move before somebody else scoops him up if he looks good.
