BALLER MOVE: Target Aggressively in Dynasty Leagues; Target off Waiver Wire in Redrafts (Current ADP: 188)
ANALYSIS: Drafted in the 6th round of the 2013 draft, Latavius Murray was a nasty combination of size and strength (6’3”, 230 lbs.) as well as speed (4.38 40-yard). A crazy fun fact about Murray: he had over 400 carries throughout his college career at UCF, and never once did he fumble the ball. Murray spent his first season in the NFL hampered with an ankle injury that forced the team to cut his freshman season short and placed him on IR. Coming into this season healthy, the only thing standing in Murray’s path to success are those two annoying running backs that never seem to go away: MJD, Darren McFadden. While the Raiders may just ride MJD and McFadden one final season, we won’t have to wait much longer than 2015 for Murray to take over the reins and never look back. The fact that the team only signed McFadden to a one year deal, while making sure to only guarantee MJD’s 2014 salary bodes well for Murray’s outlook. He is a freakish combination of size, speed and athleticism and he should be targeted in all dynasty leagues, and even drafted in some deeper redraft leagues as well.
