BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues (14+)
OWNED IN: 6% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: As a Falcons fan, this pains me to say. But it's looking like Roddy White is getting phased out of the offense. When asked about his one-target, no catch performance on Sunday, he told reporters there wasn't any extra attention paid to him by the Giants defense and that he was "open". You can't fault Matt Ryan for feeding the apex predator Julio Jones at will. But that doesn't answer the discrepancy between White and the man of our interest, Leonard Hankerson.
Hankerson finished the game with six catches and 77 yard with a score on 11 targets. To repeat. Hankerson had 11 targets to Roddy's one. Something isn't adding up here. Perhaps Hankerson is leapfrogging White on the depth chart in Atlanta. He was a former pupil under Kyle Shanahan in Washington so there's a level of trust and understanding of the playbook that gives Hankerson the edge. I don't anticipate Hankerson out-targeting White every week, which makes him not as interesting of a flier in shallow formats, but anyone in deep leagues that are deprived at WR should give him a look. Hankerson projects as a serviceable WR4/5 on most rosters.
