BALLER MOVE: Draft Target in Mid-to-Late Rounds
ANALYSIS: Finding cheap SB and HR in the later rounds of your fantasy baseball drafts will help you win championships. Leonys Martin of the Texas Rangers can be that source of cheap steals, as he is currently an undervalued asset. Martin has 67 SB in the last two years, which puts him in the top ten outfielders and 12th amongst all hitters. He is projected to be the Rangers lead-off hitter, and should score a lot of runs as the Rangers offense has hopefully healed.
Even though Martin’s career OBP is .316, his walk rate increased last year and he has a career BABIP of .325. He doesn’t provide you with much power, however, his 203 singles over his two-year career puts him in the top 20 among all outfielders. This should give him plenty of opportunity to swipe second base more often. With his current ADP of being the 41st outfielder drafted, and the 147th player drafted overall, Martin will be a great value pick and give you the late SB you may need to round out your fantasy team.
