BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 16% of Yahoo! Leagues
ANALYSIS: Outfield is a crowded fantasy position this season, especially for players without standout power or stolen base production. However, Lonnie Chisenhall is still worth considering due to his ability to get on base and drive in runs.
Despite batting sixth and seventh in the Indians’ lineup for the majority of the season, Chisenhall has managed to drive in 51 runs in just over half the season. More impressive is the improvement in his batting average and on-base percentage. As he has for much of his career, Chisenhall has limited his strikeout rate to under 20% on the season. However, where he has shown improvement is in his ability to take a walk and hit for extra base-hits. This is illustrated by his on-base percentage, which currently sits at .377, a full 60 points above his career average. In addition, while Chisenhall has just 12 home runs this season his ISO is .274, a much higher mark than his career rate of .162.
Due to these skill improvements, Chisenhall stands out as a strong addition for teams in need of batting average help and on-base percentage leagues. He is also a better fit in daily rather than weekly leagues due to the fact that he frequently sits when facing left-handed pitchers.
