BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Lorenzo Cain is one of my favorite sleepers in all of baseball. At 28, he is really coming into his own, getting on base 36% of the time so far in 2014. Still, he is only owned in 22% of Yahoo! leagues. An above-average outfielder, Cain has almost non-existent power, but he does have a knack for getting on-base and he possesses solid speed, a combination he doesn't seem to take advantage of quite often enough. His career-high of only 14 stolen bases, despite haven swiped 34 bags in one year in the minors, is not very impressive. He is, however, on pace for a new career high this year, as he already has accumulated 12 before the All-Star break. Manager Ned Yost seems to have a ton of faith in Cain, and the young outfielder has cemented himself in the leadoff spot as of late as a result. His .809 OPS currently puts him sixth among leadoff hitters in the major leagues. In a deep league or in AL-Only leagues, Cain is a solid add, as he gets on-base and will not hurt you in any category, but he doesn't produce quite enough to be a viable option in the average mixed league.
