BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Lucas Duda, the Mets' first baseman, is enjoying by far the best season of his career. With the 16 home runs, he has already surpassed his previous career high of 15. His 51 RBIs is just shy of his career-high 57 set in 2012, and he needs just two more runs scored to tie his career-best of 43. He is playing everyday for the first time in his five years in the big leagues, and is rewarding the Mets for giving him that opportunity. He is still struggling against lefties, posting just a .154 batting average with one home run, but overall, his numbers are impressive. He may never be more than a .250 hitter, but he draws enough walks that he gets on-base about 35% of the time, with a .358 on-base percentage to date in 2014. Duda has emerged as the Mets' primary source of power, and he seems to be improving every year. The 28-year-old has shown enough to be a viable fantasy option in deep mixed leagues, but given the depth of the first base position, he is likely to remain unowned in shallower mixed leagues.
