ANALYSIS: There’s no point in sugar-coating it— for the first month of the season, Luis Valbuena was terrible. He hit just .183/.290/.250 with zero homers and only four extra-base hits. But since May 7, when he finally went yard for the first time, Valbuena’s quietly been excellent. During that six week stretch, he’s hit .280 with eight homers and 36 R+RBI. With both A.J. Reed and Alex Bregman gunning for promotions to the big leagues, Valbuena may eventually find playing time hard to come by. For now, though, he deserves to be on more fantasy rosters.
