ANALYSIS: New York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit may not be hitting a home run every other night like he was a week ago, but is still a great addition for the fantasy stretch run. Posting a .265/.359/.559 slash since the beginning of September, Voit has been hitless in three of the last four games. Prior to that, though, Voit had a five game hitting streak that included home runs on back-to-back-to-back nights.
Since being recalled by the Yankees on August 2, Voit has a .304/.375/.582 slash line, tallying seven home runs, 29 R+BI, and a .362 BABIP. His BABIP is supported by a 43.4% hard hit ball rate and 29.6% line drive rate, but he still has a 28.4% strikeout rate. That rate is at 33.3% since the beginning of September, though, but his hard hit ball rate is at 45% while his soft hit ball rate sits at just 5%.
While he did not show it much with the Cardinals in 2017 (.736 OPS in 62 games), Voit did have an .891 OPS in Triple-A this season and .972 OPS last season, showing that he can be an effective hitting. Continue to play Voit while he is hot, particularly considering that the Yankees are coming home to the Bronx.
