BALLER MOVE: Stash away for fantasy owners of Jimmy Graham/Rob Gronkowski
OWNED IN: 2% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Tight ends have been knocking over like bowling pins lately, however some will unfortunately stay down.
Jimmy Graham will miss the remainder of the season with a torn patella tendon in his right knee. It's one of the worst injuries one can experience in the NFL.
He will be replaced by the initial starter until trading for Graham, Luke Willson. Willson has done next to nothing fantasy-wise this season; 12 receptions, 152 yards, and one touchdown. But Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks are confident that Willson can be have a big role on their offense.
"We'll expect Luke to step up and do the things he can do...I think he's going to be a terrific player for us down the stretch," Carroll said via Seahawks.com.
What things can Willson do exactly to help a fantasy lineup? Jimmy Graham wasn't the dominant tight end we were used to in New Orleans, so it's difficult to envision Willson to be anymore reliable. It will be interesting to see how the Seahawks handle this situation, especially since no one has truly emerged as the workhouse on their offense and Russell Wilson spreads the ball throughout his targets. Fantasy owners of Graham should give Willson a look, but only if they can't snag Scott Chandler or Vance McDonald off the wire.
