BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper PPR Leagues / Stash in Standard Leagues
ANALYSIS: Malcom Floyd is a wide receiver that I like for fantasy football, but is also a hard guy to play every week in standard leagues. In Week 1 of the NFL season, he surprised for 11 fantasy points for non-PPR scoring. After seeing a 75% increase in percentage owned, he dropped a big fat zero Week 2. The next 3 weeks, he was solid, averaging slightly less than 9 points a game. And last week he had his best outing, with a season best 103 receiving yards and a TD. It should be noted that in PPR leagues, his scoring totals have been much better as he's put up at least 10 points in every game except in Week 2.
Going up against Kansas City this week, I don’t love the matchup for him. He is still the #3 target for Philip Rivers behind Keenan Allen and Antonio Gates, and his impressive showing last week was against Oakland which isn’t necessarily the greatest of accomplishments. Floyd is going to hover around the WR3 radar all season and remain relevant, but probably doesn't have upside for much more. He does have the ability to have a great game from time to time though - and at just 27% owned in Yahoo leagues, there aren’t many better guys to fill your wide receiver fantasy depth chart off the Week 7 waiver wire if he's still sitting out there.
