BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 16% of leagues
ANALYSIS: I already told you to go get Malik Monk exactly two weeks ago as we were just entering the month of February. Back then, Monk was owned in just 9% of Yahoo leagues. Today, Monk is owned in less than twice that percentage. Today, also, I can confidently say that Monk is more than twice the player he was two weeks ago. If I was convinced you should add Monk back then, you better believe I'm 100 percent pushing you to do it now--and you must not lose time in doing so, or else you'll lose him to some other owner from your league.
Monk has played six games in February. This is how his season look if split exactly at the turn of February's calendar page. First three-months-and-change: 9 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2 apg, 0.4 spg, 0.2 bpg. Last two weeks: 17 ppg, 4 rpg, 2 apg, 0.8 spg, and 0.8 bpg. Almost every category has doubled-up its value. The minutes have gone from under 20 to 29 per game, sure, but Monk is still coming off the bench yet his production has sky-rocketed through the roof.
Even more encouraging is the fact that Monk keeps improving. He's been doing so for six games in a row. His scoring numbers have gone from 11 points to 19 a couple of times, to 25 in his last game before the All-Star break. Same with the rebounds, assists, triples (he's hitting 2 long-rangers per game in February), and everything you can think of. The usage has gotten up too (around 21% before February, more than 25% since Feb. 1), signaling his new role as the leader of Charlotte's second-unit. If you still have a chance at picking Monk up, lose no time in doing so.
